Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is an exfoliation treatment which targets the removal of dead and dull skin along with vellum (fluffy) facial hair, resulting in smooth, plump and firm skin.

What is Dermaplaning?

A blade is used to remove the top layer of your skin and thin, small hairs from your face, leaving your skin smooth and baby-soft. Dermaplaning is a form of physical exfoliation, the result is not only brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin, but also allows for better product penetration.

Although dermaplaning work on the epidermis, we are also disturbing the dermis to boost the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, resulting in a more youthful appearance. We will ensure you have a comfortable experience in clinic with invaluable advice and a tailor-made at home regime to optimise your results.

FAQ’s

  • Not at all. The treatment will feel totally comfortable and relaxing.

  • No. Dermaplaning gently removes any fine vellus hair, it will not grow back thick or darker, as vellus hair will never turn into mature hair (dark hair) from Dermaplaning.

All dark hairs are removed with wax / tweezing prior to dermaplaning.

  • Dermaplaning can be performed every 3 to 4 weeks.

This allows the skin to complete its normal 28-day cycle before the treatment is repeated.

  • Whilst safe to do so, we recommend to have dermaplaning 3-5 days prior to allow your skin to settle back into its day to day!
